Buddha Gate Monastery

On May 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Buddha Gate Monastery will hold a Buddha Bathing Ceremony to celebrate the 3035th birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha. We will bathe the Buddha, symbolizing the cleansing of our minds.

This gratitude ceremony will be held in order to honor and show appreciation to our parents of this life and past lives, in the hope that they will find true happiness within and attain the greatest wisdom. Moreover, the celebration--"Wholehearted Dedication to Mothers" is specially designed to give thanks to our parents for raising us, supporting us, and educating us. We sincerely invite everyone to bring your parents to celebrate a different Mother's Day at Buddha Gate. You are welcome to attend either the ceremony or the celebration.

In the afternoon, we will start the daily recitation of The Sutra of the Medicine Buddha until August 31. We will dedicate the merits toward peace in the world and all sentient beings, so that all may eradicate all their afflictions, be free from calamities, and attain enlightenment.
